Gun cleaning solvents

What cleaning solvents do you guys/gals use on your firearms? I need a new solvent and there are just too many out there to choose one on my own, what do you use and where do you get it from? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you.

I've tried most all the solvents and "wonder products" on the market over the years and each time I've come back to plain old, boring, gets the job done, Hoppes.
 
I like either Hoppe's No. 9 or Birchwood-Casey Bore Scrubber for general bore cleaning and firearm solvent.

I use brake cleaner spray (the newer "green" variety) for blasting out crud in hard to reach places (dies, actions, etc.) just be aware it is not so good for rubber items like o-rings.
 
I've been using Wipe-Out - a foaming bore cleaner - for the last 5 years, and couldn't be more pleased. Just spray it in the barrel, let it sit overnight - does not contain any ammonia, so it is safe - then patch it out the next day. No scrubbing with brushes, no foul odor, and a very clean barrel. It doesn't work on lead though.

For barrel bores I use RB-17; for all other cleaning chores I use (what's left of a gallon of) 'old' ProLix, the forumla they no longer offer.
For clean-up and rinse I use carb cleaner, WD40 and (cheap) brake cleaner.




'Cause it's all solventy and dangerous, oh my!
 
Home brew Ed's Red for general cleaning. Carb or brake cleaner for blasting the real cruddy stuff followed by Breakfree LP.
