gun choice

Ok if you were to carry one of these three guns witch would you chose. 1 a colt defender 45cap.2 a sig 320 in 40 cal or 357 cal compact.3 a xd9 9mm 16 round mag. Thank you for the input.

I would choose the one I was most comfortable, competent, and familiar with.

I would also have to consider which one was the easiest for me to conceal without making the draw cumbersome or time-consuming. Open carry is not permissible in my state.

As an aside I would also lean towards the piece that was chambered in a round I have in the household already.

Of those three I would go with an XD9 as it is in one of my favorite calibers, is a weapon I have handled extensively, and would be the best for my frame for concealment.

I carry and shoot the gun that fits my hands the best ...and consequently the one I shoot the best ( for me, its a full sized steel 1911, 5" barrel...in either a 9mm or .45 acp ...and one extra mag..)....mine is a Wilson combat CQB...

What works for you...I don't know...

Do you own these three weapons? Or are you planning on getting them?

I'm going to go with the idea that you plan on getting them, since you said: 2 a
sig 320 in 40 cal or 357 cal compact.

For concealed carry I would go for the P320. But not in .40S&W or .357SIG, but in 9mm instead.

I would go with the Sig if concealment is not an issue (and if so I would buy the smaller grip frame). If you were planning on having 16 rounds with the XD, I'd guess they end up being similar in grip length anyway. I've shot a few P320's in 9mm, and was very happy with the pistol.

In your personal experience which is the most reliable?
I don't own any of those guns but after testing them all, I'd go with the most reliable one that I shoot well with. If I had to guess in this instance - XD9 Compact.

I would personally go for the SIG in 9mm. I get the whole buying what you can shoot well thing but honestly you should be able to shoot all of them well if your fundamentals are solid. I have heard nothing but great things about the SIG and it has a 1000 round torture test on YouTube that it passes with flying colors. I also like that the modular setup allows you to do things like replace a cracked frame for cheap and you can have it shipped straight to your door. Just seems like a real shooters pistol that you could be hard on and upkeep yourself pretty easily. It's on my list.
