Brett is right, to a point. I have the opportunity, or misfortune if you wish, of knowing some anti's pretty well. With the exception of one, they believe in the right of self-defense. Now, grant you, this is anecdotal.
However, if they can be shamed into distancing themselves from the "extremists,"
that's a victory. Hell, they've tried that with me many times, only to find out I'm "extreme." When they say, "how can you not want smart guns," you say "it's not about smart guns and you know it. You guys just want to ban all guns. Why do you want to disarm vulnerable women whose only real defense is a gun?" Now you have them on defense, and you keep pressing the "ban all guns" position until they have to disavow it, and the people associated with it, including the top people at HCI.
Understand how they think:
"I'd like to see a world where disputes are settled over a cup of Starbucks coffee instead of at the barrel of a gun."
"I'd like to see a world where nations don't have to threaten each other with nuclear weapons, and nuclear reactors can be replaced by wind power."
"I'd like to see a world where people don't look at the color of a person's skin, or their religion or sexual orientation."
"I'd like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony. I'd like to buy the world
a Coke, and keep it company."
"Peace and love."
