damn it. The video part is blocked here at work and the article part is useless.

I order most of my ammo online and I have not had an issue.

gun wise, the only ones I've looked for and cant' find in stock is the Keltec KSG (no surprise there) and the Kahr CM9. I see plenty of firearms for sale. Glocks, Beretta nano, PX4s, Kimber 1911s...

what guns do they say are hard to find?

Couple weeks ago I bought a Windham SRC (AR) at a local gunshow.
Local shop that sells reloading supplies and ammo still had plenty last week.
I have not bought any ammo or supplies online lately.

No, I think the issue is over-blown. I don't see any general shortages on a variety of guns ..or most common types of ammo.

Some retailers in my area ...are not stocking as much as they used to ...vs special ordering / but that's more the reality of there are so many options on different guns out there - that no matter what he stocks, guys want something else. In most cases, on production guns, ordering a gun --- is just a matter of a week or so for delivery. On some very popular models - wait might be a little longer...

Ammo availability ...is more a question of what calibers that retailer is selling the most of ...so he stocks more of that variety.

Glock is running full out capacity in Austria and Smyrna and they are supposedly 150,000 to 200,000 units behind.

Ruger stopped taking orders until they can catch up.

I'll admit - I don't see bare shelves at my LGD, but there definately is more demand for some guns than there is supply of them.

Its all about supply and demand. That's why Ruger had to halt sales, to catch up in the production department.

If Ruger and others can't keep up with demand it means they are selling guns, those guns need ammo, so it stands to reason that ammo will be hit the same way, shortages (if they occur) will be because the demand is there.

I look at it as a good thing, the more people who have guns, the more gun friendly voters out there, Thats a win for us.

But if you don't already it would behoove you to think about reloading, its cheaper to buy high priced primers then it is to buy high priced ammo.

Yes, this is an excellent point. I think here in Georgia the run on guns, ammo and range time has more to do with an increase in gun ownership than anything political. I have run into an issue with an on-line order of Winchester White Box 9mm being backordered even though the WEB site said it was in stock a practice I hate. However, I was ordering before I was totally out and I guess that is the lesson – don’t let supplies run too low.

question is, are the people buying the firearms new gun owners or just people like us buying additional items?

I think its a bit of both. I have no ideal of the percentages though. But one new gun owner is better then no new gun owners.

Give you an example, after years of nagging my daughter finely got her CC Permit and signed up for some classes. Her reasoning is she's alone now, both her kids are off to college.

Anyway she picked a Ruger LCP and ordered it, its back ordered, so she decides to get another gun also, an LC9. She needed it for her upcoming class on Sunday. She still wants both.

Regardless of reasons, we are getting more gun owners, which in my opinion means more gun friendly voters. Every one we get helps.

Simply based on my observations at the range and LGS I think there are a lot of first time owners. Georgia is restoring a lot of Second Amendment rights and it gets a lot of press which I think generates an interest. Also, the local media has run some surprisingly positive stories about the increase in gun ownership which also attracts new people.

Most of the stores in my area....tell me sales are slower the past 3 - 4 months than they've been in awhile..../ Lots of guys looking ....not a lot of buyers...

gunshows, used gun shops are an exception....guys are still buying / collectors are always buying when they find a deal.../ or something to fill out the collection.

I think part of it is people are getting tax returns and are putting some of the refund money into guns... Seems to be a lot of fear all over the US... everything from people supposedly concerned over re-elections, supposed potential areas of unrest, protest of all sorts..

Something might be real.. I think alot is imagined and I wont go off into the woods on what its all about but I think its a lot of reasons..

no shortage of guns for sale or ammo in South Florida presently

I can walk into any wal mart of all places and buy boxes of the most common rounds with no issue or limits placed on me due to shortages.

now if you have some exotic flavor of ammo that your gun shoots you probably already knew it was gonna be difficult to replace it when you purchased that gun

The first 3 sites i checked, SG Ammo, Cheaper Than Dirt and Ammo To Go all have .357 Sig in stock and ready to ship.
