would likle to know the age oif my s & w model 60 #R128643 and if i can use the 38 spec+ in it

Manufactured in 1974-1977 range. As for +P's, I shoot to many old S&W so I don't use them, somebody will have the answer shortly.

S&W has said that any of their .38 Special revolvers which have a model number marked on them are fine with .38 Special +P. Revolvers made for .357 Magnum are good with .38 Special +P and +P+.

The cylinder may be capable of withstanding the increased pressure; however, the added force will increase wear and reduce service life. Use +P and +P+ ammunition sparingly.
