guided hunts

Has anyone tried a guided hunt, if so what are your thoughts on it. I'm not

talking about Africa or exotic hunts, but for normal North American hunting

like whitetails, elk, boar ect. Is it worth the expense or is it just buying your

venison.

I've hunted small game with sucess but have never gotten a deer after 5

years of big game hunting. I want a real hunt (not deer shopping), but

getting tired of no venison at the end of the season.

Steve find a farmer, or somebody in MI. We need you up here!! We have so many deer around, that you are risking hitting them in july when they are soupposed to be "back in the woods". I think elk is a "lottery system", and I don't think we have Boar.

www.mi.gov and search for DNR. You might need a shotgun, depending on where you want to hunt. A bow works fine too. If you know of anybody that lives up here, contact them. If you like Goose hunting, they have parts of the state that have a hunt sept 1 to 15th., the spot I know of is in Bald Mountain Recreation area. They hunt deer there too. I know it is a drive, and the state in it's infinite wisdom probably charges more for out of state tags, but you will be able to get a nice doe. I think they should offer out of staters, a special price on doe permits. I hope you have some luck. You shouldn't have to spend more on finding a decent "hunt" then on your weapon. They only "canned" hunts in this area are phesants.
