Guess who's back...

Hey gunner friends!

Metallic Kitty speaking.
A few years have passed since my last contact with you guys here.
I wonder if people still remember me!

We have discussed subjects such as differences between welfare systems, gun laws, politics etc. and I remember it became quite intense ;)

I'd like to admit that the impressions from our last discussions has followed me for quite a long time and they still do!
Anybody still here who has had the same feeling?

Best regards,
Metallic Kitty

MK,
I wasn't a member of the board when you lasted posted but I looked back at several of your posts. You seem to favor the Legal and Political forum, as do I. I can't say I agree with all of what I read, but I must say they were all very well reasoned and presented. If the past threads that I read are any indication, the future discussions should be interesting.

SixForSure,

Kindly thanks for your reply.
It looks as though we belong to the same field of interest.

Perhaps we should initiate some thought exchange together?

Some interesting fields for discussion could be:
- Where is Russia now and where is it heading?
- Can the world count with real engagement of Europe in solving difficult problems?
- How will American politics look after Bush?
- China?
- Iran?
- Is Israel able to obtain peace in their region?
- Etc

Feel free to give some impulses yourself.

Mr. Kitty:

Here's a question for you:

With the exception of the World Trade Center, has a fire ever caused the collapse of a steel-framed building in the history of mankind?

Nutshell Version:
Russia-Generally on the right path.
Europe-I'm not sure I understand your question.
China- It's big with a lot of people.
Iran-Not as big, not as many. Much bigger threat.
Israel- No. Israel will find that it is not possible to make peace with people who do not want peace.

Nutshell Version 2:

- Where is Russia now and where is it heading?
- Generally on the right path.
- Well yeah, it's better than the Stalin era, but what do you think about the Russian actions in Chechnia? Russian pressure on Georgia? Murders of journalists?

- Can the world count with real engagement of Europe in solving difficult problems?
- I'm not sure I understand your question.
- I mean that when Europe had problems in their own backyard (Balkan war) it was necessary that the US stepped in.

- How will American politics look after Bush?
-
- I understand ;)

- China?
- It's big with a lot of people.
- A threat or a bright future?

- Iran?
- Not as big, not as many. Much bigger threat.
- The centuries show that Iran has always been defending themselves (against the Western countries) but not attacked anyone.

- Is Israel able to obtain peace in their region?
- No. Israel will find that it is not possible to make peace with people who do not want peace.
- Well, it's always nice living trapped behind walls, being hungry and being occupied.

- China?
- A threat or a bright future?
Time will tell.

- Iran?
- The centuries show that Iran has always been defending themselves (against the Western countries) but not attacked anyone.
Does "The Iran Hostage Crisis" ring a bell? I dont believe they are trying to develop a nuclear (or as our pres would say nuke-u-lar) weapon to use defensively.

Best left alone from here.

Well, I didn't say they were choir boys.

- Don't we have double-moral if we say that Iran shouldn't have nuclear weapons while we allow ourselves to have it?

- Is it a too sensitive issue? Why?

Don't we have double-moral if we say that Iran shouldn't have nuclear weapons while we allow ourselves to have it?
Absolutely, and that double moral standard is one of the biggest contributors to the fact we are all still here!

Is it a too sensitive issue? Why?
No, not too sensitive I just think that "Israel will find that it is not possible to make peace with people who do not want peace." (palestinians in particular, some other Arab nations in general) pretty much says it all. Contrary to what the Koran teaches them, they feel that there is some sort of honor in killing others simply because the others exist.
