GSG-5 light primer strikes

After several years, and several thousand rounds, my GSG has begun to suffer from FTFs due to light primer strikes.

I had some issues the last time out and thought it was due to a dirty rifle. I cleaned it thouroughly and lubed it up and took it out again today only to have the same issues.

I shot the same ammo that has run fine before. A mix of American Eagle 38gr HP and 40gr solids, along with Centurion and Wildcats and had the same failures. Most rounds would fire if reloaded, but some only fired when loaded in a different gun.

Any others had this issue, and any ideas on solutions?

Thanks in advance

Yes, I am having the same problem and hope someone can post a solution.

I was experiencing FTF's and other issues. Took it apart to clean it and now it won't fire a single round.

I've disassembled and reassembled several times, lubed everything really well, and still no luck.

I'd love some help too!

i too had these problems FTFire & FTFeed & FTE especially with the remington rnds i even had a couple cartridges get lodges in the barrel and exploding rnds ive put 2000+ rnds in the last year and iv had maybe 10% of them fail in one way or another the best rnds i found were the winchester 555 but i still had problems so i contacted ATI and explained what was going on and they said stay away from remington there just problematic in the GSG 5 and also about haveing some gold rivet in the bolt area that helps with the extractor and of course i didn't have it so they said they would take it back and put in the gold rivet and see if there were any other issues and would fix them no charge but shipping a firearm can be expensive $136 for me and they don't cover it also (DO NOT TAKE APART THE BOLT IT WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY) trigger assembly is ok but don't do things above your level, most issues will be resolved by the ATI if you contact them i was told the turn around time would be one week but we will see

The 'golden rivet thing in the bolt area" is an upgreade to the ejector plate. The earlier guns had 2 black screws holidng it in place which will loosen up with use. ATI will replace one of the screws with a brass rivet. I sent my rifle in last fall to have this done, as I was starting to experience FTEs, and haven't had an issue with ejecttion since.

Now, no matter what ammo I run, I am getting 10-25% FTFs due to light primer strikes.
I was hoping to get a tip in this forum, but I guess I will just contact ATI for a remedy.
