*grumble* messed up MAK 90 site

Ok.
I was messing around with a NORINCO MAK 90. The front post seemed like it was bent, so I decided to take it out and take a look at it.
Well, used the tool that came with it to take the front site post out. It was just sort of a big screw.
Unfortunately, it is cut down the center, and the thing kind of flares out towards the bottom. So the bottom is bigger than the hole it came out of. (Does that make sense?)

Anywho, I can't get the front site post back into the hole. Is there a trick to it, or something like that?
Please, please help!

Thanks!

Boy did you ever find one of the major problems with a AK. It will go back in with a lot of fideling around and needlenose plyers and a light touch.") It goes along with getting your finger stuck in the buttrap for the cleaning kit. You only do it once.

grrr...been messing with this thing for a couple hours now.
I feel like that scene in 'Happy Gilmore' where Adam Sandler is doing his best to implore a golf ball to go into it's home.

If you can find a metric nut of the same thread type/pitch, you could screw the nut down from the top down to collapse the lower part, then thread it into the sight base. Obviously you'd need to leave a bit of sight's lower threads exposed, then back off the nut as it goes in. Just a thought.
