Grip - what am I doing wrong?

I have a Glock 19 and have never had this problem before. I was on the range last weekend, and every time I fired, the slide hit the second knuckle (one closest to my hand) of my thumb. When I finished, I had a blister. What am I doing wrong? I thought I was holding it the same as always.

It can happen on Glocks... The slide sits close to the hand, and there's not a lot of beavertail to prevent slide bite... The gen 4 are better about this though.

You could have been holding less firm and the recoil twisted the pistol and allowed it to happen or you could have been holding with a higher grip.

I suffered from slide bite with glocks. Just have to adjust your grip and get use to it. The Gen 4s are a little better with no backstrap or a beavertail.

Just to be sure, you don't have both thumbs behind the slide right?
Thats what I was wondering.

With a proper grip, that knuckle on my hand gripping the gun, is just around the left side, and in line with the back of the slide. There no way the slide can hit it.
