I have just bought a nice used Colt Python (nickel-plated), and find the standard checkered-wood grips to be quite a handful. I have smallish hands, and need a smaller/narrower grip so that I can reach the trigger properly. I prefer hard rubber grips, but notice that the Pachmayr's (for example), enclose the backstrap, so would actually make the reach to the trigger even further....or would it?
Any suggestions (including wood grips) would be most welcome. I'd like to get it right first time, instead of ending up with the usual shoebox full of grips, and the originals installed back on the gun...
