I`m getting a little thick in my old age.I recently bought a model 357 made in the late fifties ,or early 60s. I1m getting contused again as to what grips will fit it? Sorry to repeat the question, but I thought trooper grips would fit it ,but they don`t? Any explanation ,or simple riddle might help!

Welll, on June 20, he mentioned he got a Colt Trooper III, and Yesterday he mentioned a Colt Lawman. Could be either one, I s'pose, or one we've yet to hear about.

What`s the matter guys! Can`t you guess by my typing that this gun is a model 357, one of the older Colts ,before the trooper. I`ve got to get a nice set of grips. The Siles that came with the gun are too big for me. I already ordered a set that was the wrong size. I thought that the Colt trooper grips fit the Lawman . I guess I was wrong

Drail, re-read his posts. He's got a Lawman and wants smaller grips for it. He's an older feller who knows what he wants, and it isn't all that difficult to decipher his computer abilities and such. He's got enough posts (check his history) for just about anyone to get the hint that he knows what he's talking about even if he cant communicate it through his keyboard.

Sorry Chas my bad.. Colt Model 357 wasnt registering in my mind:o. I'm a S&W guy..

I'll check with a gunsmith buddy who is a wealth of information if he has any info I'll pass it along..

Hey Chas,
I have a Colt Lawman, The trooper grips should work with just a little bit of finishing done to them.
I have a set of pachmayr grips if you're interested.
I got a set of Walnut Grips on mine so I wont be going back to the rubber pachmayr ones.

Feel free to send me a message if you like. I can tell you (via picture) where you need to sand the grips down just a hair to get them to slip on to the lawman.
