Grey Glock, Red Ruger... New toys

Stopped in the local PSA Saturday and they had a grey G17 in the case.

While I was checking it out, the fiance wandered down to the 22s and looked around. They had the 22/45 lite in blue, which she had been wanting, but they also had one in red... And that really peaked her interest.

We left without getting anything...

Then this morning, she mentioned thinking about the pistols... So shortly after, we were on our way back to PSA.

Cool, the grey is much nicer IMO than the OD (olive drab) or the BSB (baby $#!* brown) Glocks.

The Ruger looks great too. Curious, how is the trigger pull on the Ruger?

Wait, you mean your fiance talked you into going back and buying the guns?! That literally must be a first, congratulations, you found a keeper.

Not horrible... but it needs the Mag disconnect removed, and the hammer and sear polished.

It dissembles sooo much easier than the MkIII Target we have.

Its not like she had to actually try hard. ;)

I'm liking the black right now.

Going to try the beavertail on it. Makes it more gen 3 like, which I am not a fan of, but I like longer beavertails.

Too bad I can't get a beavertail that doesn't increase the LoP...

I tried a beavertail only from some company, and was not impressed with the feel in my hand.

I wonder how they do that...

The machining on the slide looks nice, but I am not a fan of the stipple. Sure it looks grippy, but uncomfortable as well.

I am thinking about undercutting the finger guard a little on mine.

I undercut my Glock trigger guards. It's super easy and makes a big difference. Makes the 19 actually fit in my hand.

I'm not a big fan of their stippling either. It's not super sharp or anything, more like a finer pattern of melted wax. I do prefer other styles to theirs, though.
