I did a search, and didn't find much.
I just picked up a .22 cal G.W. 7 1/2 barrel, the serial no. seems to place it in the center of production, It seems to lock up tight.
My question is they say parts are interchangeable with early Colts except for the hammer, and the firing pin. Which model Colt would that be?

LOL! NONE! The fact is, Great Westerns were not even interchangable among their own. Most Great Westerns were kits and assembled on kitchen tables. Some great ones were factory assembled and some were tuned up properly by kitchen table gungorillas. That claim has been made by Great Western, Allen, EMF, IAR, Mitchell and Armi San Marcos. The ONLY company I know of who could and did make aftermarket high quality parts for Colts was Christies. IIRC.
