Seems like a lot of product bashing of late, and I plead guilty. Maybe it is time to share a positive experience.
I obtained a Springfield Armory Ultra-Compact about a week ago. The darn thing shoots about 4 inches higher at 25 yards than I would like. I looked in the owner's manual and SA states that their pistols are set up for a six o'clock hold and will shoot high for people who use center of mass. Well, I use center of mass.
So I call Springfield and ask them if they have different height front sights. They tell me no, they change the height of the rear sight. So I tell the gal that I would like to purchase a lower rear sight. She asks me if the gun is on warranty and I tell her it is. So she tells me to send it in. Well, I tell her I don't want to spend $30.00 for shipping and wait several weeks for the pistol.
Her reply was to give me the corporation's shipping account number for UPS and a return authorization number for a "rush" repair. She also tells me that they will "tweak" the pistol and "go through it", test fire it, etc. I took it to UPS this afternoon and off to SA it goes.
Incredible, even though the pistol falls within specifications they are paying shipping both ways with a 10 day turn around time just to get point of impact where I want it. They really know how to "suck up" to the customer don't they?
