GREAT bottles for solvents and lubes

In my pursuit of the perfect applicator for Hoppes, CLP, whatever, I believe I've found them. Used by body artists for precise application of dyes, these have worked out perfectly for me, and the price is definitely right. No more solvent all over my hands and the gun/bench. They look like this:

That's a great idea. I'm tired of dipping my patches in my Hoppe's bottle. Also, I have a sample bottle of Weapon Shield that I don't like. Like the product, but not the bottle. Maybe I need to place an order if I can't find them in a local art supply store...

Like you, I too got tired of pouring some Hoppes into the lid, dipping, then having the sodden patch fall off my jag. Now I just put the dry patch into the the solvent port that attaches to my rod guide (great idea, BTW), soak it, and away we go. Along with the patch catcher I got from Midway, I am cleaning cleanly, and not coming in the house reeking of Hoppes No. 9 (which I love, but the missus detests). These bottles will not leak when inverted, either. Perfect!

As long as the solvents don't eat the plastic that the bottles are made from, they are the best I've seen for our cleaning purposes. I have some bought from Sinclair that are not adequate for cleaning cleanly; they drip solvent out around the nozzle all over the place.

Thanks for the info.. Good lead..

anybody want to put these to the test and see if the solvents eat the plastic at all?

I'm thinking ...
Hoppes #9
Weapon Shield
Breakfree CLP

I THINK you want to look for HDPE as opposed to LDPE, to avoid the plastic melting.

Those are nice prices!

High density polyethylene

Just came back to this thread, and no, no solvent I've put in them yet has eaten them. Before I bought them, I emailed the seller and specifically asked which of the bottles she sold were the best for strong gun solvents. She assured me the luer lock bottles were my best bet, and so far I am a happy camper. Can't imagine cleaning without them now. :D

Just a bump to keep this thread current in the hopes others will also discover these. Get some for you shooting friends as Christmas (can we still say that?) presents!

I ordered a half dozen of the bottles this past Thursday.
I really appreciate you posting about them. I have several different solvents I use at home, plus one for the road..:)
