I really wish these people would keep them out of these kids' hands. All it is is more ammo for the klintonians. If people really care about the future of guns in this country they will lock their guns in a safe and keep them away from the kids when they are not supervised. I truly believe kids should grow up learning to love shooting but there is no need for them to have any access to the guns at any other time than with responsible adult. I know this is all common knowledge to most of you but I gotta vent a little  .

Until the antis put a sign in their front yard that says they don't own guns, they are riding on the shirt-tail of the safety that we provide by owning them.

Hey, I am 15 and have been shooting forever. There are pistols I could get my hands on (two or three in my cabinet) and my rack is full of rifles. I am not going to take any of them to school. Some people are just stupid. We live in the land of retards...

It seems to me that there are some adult gun owners out there--who are not members of the firearms community in the same sense that
TFL members are.

Those of us here at TFL are NRA members and GOA members and have had NRA Pistol and Rifle
Compentency and Safety Training.

If you have not had this training, you are part of the problem, prehaps somewhat similar to the pervious, originating
post in this string and not part of the solution.

GET PROPERLY TRAINED IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SO.!!!!

We are responsible parents who take the time and the trouble to talk to and educate our childern about what is expected in todays society and teach our childern how to safely
and responsibly handle firearms.

We belong to local gun clubs afiliated with the NRA and are families are also members.

It could well have been the fault of the guardian to not talk to ,to not educate
his ward properly , with the consequences of
which we read about above.

Or , the tean ager could have been one of the
so called "troubled teans" who will not listen to parents and will not do what they
are told even when they realize it is the proper thing to do.

It is unfortunate, but that tean ager will have a record for the rest of his life and
never be allowed to own a firearm.

If it is the fault of the guardian for
not properly educating his tean ager it is
even more unfortunate.

I can't help thinking that'' IF '' the guardian had been a NRA member and had for himself the proper
training and had his guardian properly trained in firearm safety, that none of this would have happened.

Proper training and education could have avioded this.

The boy with the guns got them from the home of a guardian, and authorities were investigating whether that person, who wasn't identified, might face charges, Cook said.

This (guardian) should fry. Just like I should if I let my son take a gun to school!

Let's not get so hastey folks. Look, I'm 35, and at any time in my younger days could have had any number of guns. They were in the gun rack and in our parents room. Did I EVER think about touching one without supervision/approval, much less taking one to school? HELL NO!!! My brothers and I were more afraid of our parents than we were of the guns.
We were raised shooting. The "curiosity factor" just wasn't there, since just about any time we wanted, Dad would take us out shooting.
Teach them right and you won't have the problems.

Man, the media bloodhounds sure jumped on this one quick! I heard about it yesterday evening, and the news anchor said the kid managed to sneak the guns thru the school's metal detector!

Another kid in Dallas, I think he was in elementary school, managed to sneak several guns into school yesterday. He had a .22, .25 and .38.in his backpak, only the .38 was loaded.

STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID parents!!!!!

You poor abused fellow! ;) I knew there was a reason for your paranoia. That's probably why you are a "gun-lover" (said nastily, in Roger Mudd fashion  ). You must feel the need to compensate for the all the belittlement and oppression you experienced as a young child. I too suffered the discipline of loving parents. I too am scarred for life!
