I use Dow 33 in my field of work. It's an excellent, clean grease that really displays its superior characteristics in low temperature environments. I'm talking about weather. It will hold up very well for firearms use as well. Just remember, you only need a VERY thin coat.
Not familiar with Dow 33 but I have been using old Viet Nam era LSA or as we called it back then, 'duck shot' on my M1 and 45 slide and springs if I was going to be doing a lot of heavy duty shooting. Otherwise a tiny dab of white lithium grease which I have a ton of does me. Just guessing but as long as you kept it to a thin smear in the slide you should be fine. My guns get cleaned pretty regularly so it doesn't matter much what I use because it won't be their long anyway.
