I'm going to be that guy for a minute and say that from owning SIGs from across the years, IMO a number of the earlier Exeter pistols (from those just assembled there to those made there) were just as nice as the German models and the most recent production examples seem to be getting better.

share!

Bac1023 you have 5 p210s. Some of us have no p210s it isnt fair. I think you should be required to redistribute the wealth in my direction.

I did buy the wife an original blackwater contract 226 though for our anniversary. Thats our only sig

The older service West German service Sigs, maybe, though I like the balance of the old slides better. That's just my opinion.

They are not anything like the old Sig Sport models, X-Five, or P210 Legend. Exeter never built anything close to that quality level and likely never will.

You can be that guy all you want, but there's a huge difference between the high end German Sigs and the Sigs built in Exeter. I'm not saying the Exeter Sigs are bad guns, because they are solid pistols. However, the X Series and the old Sport models are built to very high standards. Of course, they cost much more too, so it's all relative. The Exeter Sigs were not meant to compete with those. They are a replacement for the old service Sigs.

My comments weren't directed at those pistols, as what you typed didn't seem to indicate you meant that comment about just those pistols. I can't sound off on those pistols as I have no interest in the X Line or P210 and have never owned one. I stick with the service pistols.

Fair enough, but I also wasn't talking about the actual quality of the pistols when I said "nonsense" either. I'm just not one for all the goofy names and color schemes they use.

I liked Sig back when they just built a great pistol without all that other stuff. They used to have class.

The older Blackwater P226 is a cool pistol.

As for the P210, I'm a big fan. I'm a collector/shooter of high end pistols (Sig or otherwise) and the P210 is one of my favorites.

1987 W German P220 with 300 rounds down range.

Someday, I need to take photos of my SIG's. I'm primarily a target shooter and also keep a couple of HD and SD guns. I have two US SIG's" a 1911 .45ACP Target and a 1911 .45ACP MAX. The German models are: a X-5 L1, a X-6 L1 and a p232 (SD).

I recently disposed of a SIG p210 6 with the .22lr conversion kit. It was new when purchased; I ran less than 50 rounds thru it.

I'm not technically qualified to say one group of guns is better than the other, quality wise. But, the German made guns look and feel like they're more precisely made, feel like a fine mechanical watch. They're all accurate and reliable.

I didn't feel the p210 suited my requirements. It's beautiful, well balanced and accurate, but not a target gun. I think a collector will enjoy it.

That is a truly Elite Sig collection bac1023!!

I've only started owning Sigs in the last few years, but I am sold.

The edge for my favorites still generally goes to HK, but Sig is on my top tier.

Thanks!

I like HK's as well, particularly the P7 Series (though I have several others). The P7 pistols were the highest quality pistols HK ever produced.

I guess I have developed an affliction since I seem to have acquired three SIGs in the past year, but I have no photos as yet.

Mine are a full-sized P320 .45 ACP, a compact P320 9mm Luger, and a P229 chambered in .40 S&W and 357 SIG.

Have been thinking about a P239 9mm recently.
