Granholm signs castle doctrine

Looks like our Governor signed into law the castle doctrine in Michigan. Wonders never cease, is it an election ploy? From a Democrat? No, it can't be, can it?

Be gracious in victory. Always praise good behavior. If it is an election ploy, and your governor does other, similar election ploys, aren't you getting what you want anyway?

If someone does the right thing and then gets crapped on, figure the odds of that person giving a damn about doing the right thing again.

castle law?

ok i have an idea of what the castle law is, but can someone explain it to me fully? maybe i am being stupid but i ask for further clarification please. it would be most appreciated. thank you

Castle Doctrine provides that if you are attacked in your home , vehicle, or at your place of business, you may stand your ground against the attacker , thus defend yourself as you see fit , without fear of prosecution.

Of course we have variations of it in the USA and only a handful of states have adopted a form of the law.

Like I said .... this should be law acrossed the country. Someone enters my home and tries to do me or my family harm , I should have the right to take them down without fear of prosecution. And so should you.

If a democrat signed it over then that is good, you do know that someone can be a Democrat and still see issues that a Conservative feels correct as the same.

+1. Also, a Democrat is not always a liberal, and a Republican is not always a conservative. Consider Zell Miller and NYC Major Bloomberg, respectively.

If one pol agrees with more of your major issues than his opponent does, and acts according to those beliefs, the marketing label seems of secondary importance to me. I'd rather vote for Joe Lieberman than for Michael Bloomberg.

One of the differences about Granholm is that she was born and bred in Canada.

She would have been toast if she hadn't signed the law.

One of the MAJOR benefits of the law is that if the state says it's a good shoot, the miscreants family cannot sue you in civil court. You won't have to shell out 20,000 to defend yourself.:)
