grandpa's old rossi

I inherented grandpa's old rossi .38. Grandpa was a tinkerer and had chopped an inch or two off the barrell to make it a snub just a shade under two inches. I would like to start using it for conceiled carry. What accuracy and reliability work should I have done. I live in central Alabama and would like anyone's suggestion as to where I can find a good 'smith, regardless of location.

Nothing beats giving it a test run after checking the timing. Do a quick search on TFL in Revolver Forum for a 'revolver checklist'. Look the gun over and if nothing is wrong with it, take it for a test ride.
