I've got a blued 3" GP 100, but I just saw this model that I've never come across. Does anyone have one? How does it compare and how is different, just the sites?

The sights are actually quite different, the cylinder has a chamfered/beveled touch to it that isn't much different in function, but it sure has visual attraction. The grips were limited only to that model and considering that Ruger no longer does the combination wood panel inside the rubber grip, they end up being FAR different than the ugly Hogue monogrip that now ships with all GP's.

It's a very nice revolver and will likely carry a premium over the regular ones forever. Is it worth the premium? I can't say. It seems to me that if the visual differences, the somewhat 'exclusive' nature of them and the pride of owning something with those differing features is important, than yes. Generally speaking... as a quality shooting arm and tough revolver go -- probably not.

If the prices were close, I'd certainly snag the Wiley Clapp edition. ;)

View attachment 92596 aside from the sights, it has: a matte finish with "ruger gp100" in a diff font on the side, a tapered cylinder and beveled edges for easier holstering/unholstering, a better looking (IMO) version of the original wood rubber grip, and a smoother action according to ruger. Idk how much smoother it is as i haven't shot a new regular gp100 for comparison. Oh and I almost forgot, a $100ish premium which I didn't mind paying. I love the gun personally. If I had to sell my guns, this would be one of the last to go

Yeah, if that model had been sitting in the gun case when I bought my 3 inch GP. I would own that one instead of the factory model.

Yw and yea that's pretty much how it went. I. Was looking for a full size gp100 or 686 but then I saw this one and I bought it without thinking twice. No regrets, it's a beautiful gun and it's still the tank ruger wanted to build. Only problem I had after the purchase is that I still don't have a full size 357 lol

I chose the standard 3" GP a couple months ago...
I could have bought a stainless GP Wiley Clapp, but I decided not to go the extra $150 it would have cost me.
I'm very happy with the GP I ended up with. It is very accurate, even shooting the plates my club has at 80yds posed no problem.
The trigger, both DA and SA is very smooth and easy to use.
I found a set of compact Ruger GP100 grips, which are actually smaller than the WC grip.
As far as the "exclusivity" of the WC edition...Ruger is going to introduce the same revolver in their regular line up, I understand. It won't say Wiley Clapp on it, but it will have the same features.

The grips are nowhere near small on this gun.. Maybe the wc edition will have some collector value over the same but reg production version

Oh yeah, the first one I ran across had such a nice trigger pull I had to look for the Ruger name. "This can't be a Ruger." But it was.

I bought it, slightly used in the stainless version, with the fiber optic front sight. That being the brightest fiber optic sight I've ever seen.

There are some that are blued, with a gold or brass bead for the front sight instead of the fiber optic.

I'm not sure why the blued one didn't also come with the fiber optic front sight. The gold bead works if there's light behind you but otherwise it's just a black blade (little exaggerated, but still)..

If you wanted to improve your GP100, Gemini Customs does great work.

I have a 3" SP101 and my buddy has a 3" GP and 2.25" SP all done my Marc.
