GP100 / Python similar enough to use same holster?

I'm looking at a Safariland Mdl #29 holster. It is made for a 6" Colt Python and I was wondering if the Ruger GP100 and the Python are similar enough in size to share the same holster.
This brand and model of holster is my favorite, and is long discontinued.

OK, since no one else have answered...

If my memroy serves, my brother bought a holster made for a Python and stuffed his GP100 in it a few years ago, but it was a very tight fit. I think the leather stretched enough to make it usable for him - that is range use, not duty or other social situations.

So I guess my answer is: I think it will fit, sort of. Not a very good answer nearly two weeks after you posted, but if you're still interested in the holster, maybe this is better than nothing.
 
I think it will, and agree that the old #29 is a heck of a fine holster. You can get virtually the same design today from El Paso Saddlery, by the way.

You might call Safariland, and ask. Someone there may tell you how they sized that holster. I believe it does fit S&W M586/686 guns, also.
