GP100 grips

I'm buying my first revolver on Monday. It is going to be a 3" sp101. I think I will soon be buying my second revolver - a gp100. I liked the looks of the 3" gp but I was wondering if it takes the same houge grips as the standard gp even though it has smaller factory grips. I like the GP but I can't get it to sit in my had correctly becasue of the grips. I have large hands but apparenlty I'm all palm with short fingers:o

Here's to hoping the 3" sp is a good first revo!

Both guns are excelent choices and yes, the grip post is the same on the GP with the smaller grips as the one with the larger grips. Don't worry about wearing those guns out, a human being doesn't live long enough to do that. Enjoy!!!

Are the 'factory' grips you are talking about the rubberised ones with the wooden panels in either side?
I had those on my GP100 (4") and I have big hands and I was finding my little finger had to wrap underneath the grip and proved to be uncomfortable after prolonged shooting.

I replaced them with the Hogue rubber grips, which accomodate a position for the little finger. I haven't looked back since. I love them.

I bought a SP today and got a set of hogues for it - I checked out the GP set at the same time. I agree, they look like they will solve my issue. My problem was a little different in that I didn't like the bottom of the grip getting thicker. I didn't realize that was the issue until I played with the 3" GP. I loved it and realized the grip tapered instead of getting bigger. The hogues don't seem to get too big and the indent for the pinkie helps. I think the GP is my next purchase.
