GP100 front sight question

I've got a 4" GP100 (actually a GP141) and was looking at putting on a fiber optic front sight.

When looking at the front of the front sight (as in looking down the bbl) there is a recessed pin that looks and feels - - yes I tried pushing on it with a punch - - like it is spring loaded. The sight also seems to be dovetailed in?

Anyone got a quick "how-to" on how to change out the front sight on a GP100?

Hold in the pin in front, pull the sight straight up or rotate slightly towards the back as you pull. The sight blades are tight in the slot and are undercut both front and back.

Ruger sells sight blades for their revolvers. Take a look at them. If not, any good gunsmith can fit a sight.

Thanks Scorch, just what I needed to know. I was thinking a "big dot" fiber optic or someone mentioned a XS 24/7 over in the revolver forum.

Huuuummm so many decisions, so few guns.
