GP-100 without full-lug barrel

My buddy just snagged an early GP from Gunbroker and he sent me a picture. Wasn't a great pic and I couldn't zoom in on it, but I was instantly confused with the old-school barrel on it. It looked either like a Redhawk or a Security Six in the single quick picture I got. (you couldn't judge relative size from the picture)

In any case, I didn't think I was looking at a GP-100 because I had thought all of them wore full-lug barrels. Apparently, they do NOT! ;)

Serial number dates it to 1987-88, early in the GP-100 cycle.

Anyone have these GP's without the full lug?
Apparently, I just haven't been paying close enough attention to GP-100's. :o

If it is 4"/half lug/fixed sight/stainless/.357, the model number is KGPF-340...

I have one from the same era (1989)...Ruger has recently done another run of this model number, and a few are coming up on the auction sites...

There were also some in this configuration in blue and stainless that were .38SPCL only...

Here's my KGPF-340:

Following is a picture of my four Ruger GP-100 half-lug revolvers in all of the originally offered barrel lengths(6", 4", and 3.0"). The 6" stainless was made in 1987, the 6" blue in 2008, the 4" stainless in 2008, and the 3.0" stainless in 1999. The 6" half lug's were available only with the adjustable sights. The shorter barrel's came only with the "Fixed sights". The shorter barrels also came in blue-however the 3.0" in blue is a very rare and hard to find gun! Although all of the above models were discontinued-as has already been said, Ruger has recently had runs of both the 4" blue and the 4" stainless "Fixed sight" revolvers!:

You are right-as I just realized that I'd made a typo error in posting 2-3/4" as the short GP-100 barrel length, instead of the 3.0" correct length. I had just got through typing out a long email regarding my Ruger six series revolvers and evidently had the 2-3/4" barrel length stuck in my mind! Of course, Ruger never made a 2-3/4" Gp-100.
