GP-100 price in MD

Think my next purchase will be a new stainless 6" GP-100 - I have been to a few stores in the Baltimore area and they go for $450 - 480. Anybody out there from MD? These prices seem high compared to what people on this forum are paying in other places. Can anyone recommend a good shop in MD? Or does that sound on par for the region?

Buy one used. Many of us don't buy new, as it really isn't worth it. Basically shop around. There are tons of gunshops. Valley Guns in Baltimore, Bart's and Select Fire in Glen Burnie, MD Small Arms in PG County, On Target in Severn/Ft.Meade, Hendershots in Hancock. Dozens more if you check the yellow pages.

GP100 price

You can expect Maryland gun prices to be higher for all guns. The price you quoted for the GP100 is about the norm for Maryland new gun prices.

On Target seems to have the best prices on revolvers around here.

I've seen a blue GP100 for as little as $400 there (new). They usually range from just over $400 to a bit under $450 there (depending upon blue or stainless and barrel length).

Oh, if you want to be sure of what they currently have and the prices before you drive there (or you need directions) here is their phone # 410-551-7777. One warning, some of the guys (and gals) there are really nice people to deal with (some of the best gun store salespeople in the area) but they also have some who are among the worst to deal with in the area as well.

Another good place to check is the Bass Pro Shop at Arundel Mills Mall. Being an outdoor good chain they buy in larger numbers and thus get better prices (like certain long guns at sporting goods stores v. gun shops). They are licensed to sell handguns that are approved in MD for hunting. I'm pretty sure they have the GP100. Worth a shot anyway (no pun intended).

Their phone number is 410-689-2500. The gun counter is understaffed so there may be quite a wait before you get a salesperson unless you go midday or late in the evening when things are slower. However, when you do get a person most of the people there are very friendly and really do try to help (though some will talk your ear off even more than I can :D ).

Check out Continental Firearms in Cockeysville.Their phone # is 410-560-3609. They have a good selection and I've always got very fair prices. STAY AWAY FROM VALLEY GUNS they will rip you off.

A friend was quoted $675 during their Glock Sale only for a G35 at Valley, and Continental sold it to him for $625 as an every day price.

I will 2nd Valley guns as being high. They just had a glock "sale." They quoted me $550 for a glock 17. I went to the Gun Shop in Essex, they had the same brand new 3rd generation glock for $507. I'd call them and see what price they can give you for one. Their # is 420-686-7333.

JeepDriver,

I don't think Continental Arms is a good place for revolver prices, actually they sometimes give good prices but other guns are grossly overpriced even with autos (there you really need to look at the individual deal as they are all over the board). They have a new S&W65LS for about $530 or $540, at On Target the same gun is about $480. They sell Charles Daly 1911s for $500! Even with MD gun prices a standard blue CD shouldn't be over $460 (the most I've seen elsewhere). However, there have been times that I've seen good or at least average prices for MD prices (I've seen CZ 40s and Springfield XDs for the same price as everywhere else, their prices on Berettas are sometimes the lowest of the bigger stores in the area).

Meat,

Is that for NEW Glocks. Most of the USED ones I've seen have been $500-550 (that's at Continental, White Marsh Arms, The Gun Rack and other shops as well).

Geez you guys get screwed up in my old home state! I paid $489 for a Glock 30 -NEW-down here in Virginny!
Why not just wait till the next Timonium show?

Continental

Ended up going with Continental - their initial asking price was high but they brought it down to 450 after a little wheeling and dealing and a free hour of range use when I pick it up (an incredible 16 dollar value for a non-member like me). That is a better price than Valley and a little better than Walters, where I have bought the other guns I own, and Continental's location is convienent for me. They also struck me as nice folks, promised great service, etc. I guess gun prices are just higher in the Baltimore/Baltimore county area. Anyway, am looking forward to shooting/owning a GP - thanks for the responses.

You won't be disappointed with the service that Continental will provide. They are nice people. I've bought several pistols from them, in fact a guy I work with bought a G35 from them on Tuesday. I work across the street at Valley Motors so the indoor range is great, we go shooting at lunch quite often.
