This seems to be a popular, recurring topic so, here's a picture of my walking around, bicycle riding rig. The loads are Speer Gold dot 125 that do 1441 fps from this length and a rather impressive 1530 from my 6" short shroud. the holster is a well used Sparks Summer Special. This combo sees alot of use.

nice picture mec...

Do you think that holster would retain a 3 inch GP? I've just ordered one and am needing a good holster. My activities are about the same, bike riding, walking, even a little lawn mowing..

thanks,

Mike M.

I consider my 3" SP plenty for carry, and I'm big GP fan and owner as well.

Have to say your pic is extraordinary though, you managed the light just right!

That was from a proper film camera and then scanned, not a digital one, correct?

These milt sparks holsters are all made to order with a lag time of about 12 weeks. This particular one was made for a .44 mountain gun 4" but I find it works just fine for the GP. It should work equally well for the 3" - which is a swell looking revolver by the way. and I even found that it worked just fine with a 5" 627-8 with the barrel coming right to the end of the holster.

the camera is a digital - a sony dsc85s 4.1 meg with zeise(sp-sic) sonar zoom lens set on the smallest picture size- 480 x 6 something. In general, I get better dig images with it than I have with scanned slides. Lighting was open and shadowless shade with the camera set on automatic and no ev correction necessary.

You got the side GP-100 engraving to be so readable with that?!?

Good job! I'll take a second look.

Dan P, Take a look at this. Same basic set-up but it shows a bit of -for lack of a better word- grain but is still good on the fine detail
