I'm not from Minnesota, and I certainly could be wrong, but Ventura is described as an 'economic conservative' and a 'social liberal'. Now, where I come from, we call those libertarians. And, I'd be very surprised if an intelligent, capable man like Ventura doesn't believe human beings have the right to self defense and the RKBA. Good for him.
Re: Why Governor Ventura needs a CCW. As I understand it, one of the reasons Ventura got into politics was he wanted a CCW. The local issuing official turned him down. Ventura ran for mayor in his town and won. He still couldn't get the CCW. As governor, the official who turned him down is now his employee. Interesting turn of events I would say.
