I posted a topic about the new DHS contract for an "indefinite" amount of ATK/Federal HST rounds.
I prefer the Winchester Ranger T or Remington Golden Saber(bonded) pistol rounds but the new Critical Duty & DPX loads are impressive too.
I bought 2 cases of the 180gr 40 S&W last week and it works fine! I thought it was a good buy. The 9mm is out of stock I'm going to jump on it when or if it comes back in stock.
I ordered four boxes of it so I'll let you know when it arrives. This may sound like a stupid question but what do they mean by " reloadable with one of Federals most popular defense / law enforcement bullets, the HST"?? Was this ammo reloaded by someone other than Federal?
I prefer the lighter 155-165gr over the 180gr type .40S&W ammunition.
The 165 grain JHP offer good vel/KE/marksmanship & in most factory rounds, it holds together well.
The light 135gr JHP .40 rounds had higher KE levels but caused a higher amt of recoil.
