Got to break my Wiley Clapp in

Took my Wiley Clapp to go break it in. Shot about 300 rounds, mixture of ball, JHP and SWC. The only problem I had was at first I was resting my thumb on the slide stop, so the slide didn't lock back the first couple magazines. It's been a while since I got to the range, so I'm a little rusty.

15 yards.

And I took my Highway Patrolman and put another 100 rounds through it. I still can't shoot double action accurately to save my life. While I was shooting it, the guy in the lane next to me asked what I was shooting, and I let him shoot it and I shot his. He had some kind of Ruger snubnose .38, and I have to say, I'm not a fan.

Nice pistol, and I adore the Highway Patrolman. I, personally, would never buy anything with Wiley Clapp's name on it. Because of some of his literary diatribes, I view the man as a self-serving, egotistic, slug.

Nothing against your handguns, I don't hold the man in much esteem.

"I view the man as a self-serving, egotistic, slug. "

thats adding a positive note to this thread..

and your the one who would know....

It was on the gun when I bought it. It also has a Harrison Design sear, disconnector, trigger, reverse 45-degree flush cut barrel, and about a 3# trigger. And I'm planning on ordering a narrower rear sight for it.

And I put the bonded ivory grips back on it.

And CaptainO, frankly, I don't give a rat's ass about your opinion of Wiley Clapp.

" I would never buy anything with Wiley Clapp's name on it " Fortunately for you , his name's not on it . If you can get past the " WC " in the serial number , you'll have a very nice Colt .
