I traded off a can of Tokarev ammo for this H&R 929 with 6" barrel, seems nice enough and shoots to point of aim. Good little plinker I guess. Any of you have one of these? Anything I should know about to keep it ringing the plates?

Nice.

There's a guy over at RFC who owns a bunch of the older H&Rs.

Nice plinkers, and can still be had for a good price these days.

I have one and I love it. It's a good shooter and like you say, hits where you point it. I wanted a 22 pistol to keep around the barn/shop to shoot varmits with so picked mine up at a LGS. It had just been sold to them by the wodow of a former LE officer and it was in nice shape. After I got it, the more I've shot it, the more I like it. Yea, they were made as inexpensive revolvers but they seem to be well built and solid. The one you got looks like it is a nice one! Congrats on your trade!

Sweet its good to hear its a pretty good budget plinker. I like those black grips on yours Nocturnus. I might have to shop around and find a pair of those just to mix it up. Have you guys found a brand of ammo it likes better than others. I just got it today and only shot one cylinder full, but I did shoot the cap off a milk jug with federal auto match. This thing is more accurate than my Taurus 94.

I thought everybody had one, here's mine.

Just keep plenty of oil on it or the hardware grade blue will rust in a heartbeat. They make great introductory guns for the ladies, "look at me, I'm shooting!"

Mine eats everything I feed it. I mostly shoot winchester bulk ammo because it's cheap. Mine is very accurate also. For such an inexpensive gun, they sure are cool as hell.

I love those H&R 929 & 922 revolvers. The NEF R92 also. Too bad they stop making them. Good plinkers and excellent trainers for newbies. It's getting harder to find them in excellent condition nowadays.

Everybody needs at least one H&R. I don't have a 929 but I have an early Sportsman made in 36.

Here's my only 929.
A 2.5" model unfired with aftermarket rosewood grips.
I have several others, about 40, and love them all.
Vastly underrated revolvers!

deerslayer,
I am sure I have a set of the black factory grips, in excellent condition, if you are interested, I will see if I can find them, maybe we could do a trade, I like the thumbrest grips.
Otherwise, they do show up on the auctions.

Nice to see so many 929s! Hawg, I passed one up like yours and have kicked myself ever siince - I'd love to have a top break like that!

My 929 has the six inch barrel - I keep looking for the other lengths - I believe they were made in 2 1/2" like the one shown and in a 4" as well?

They truly are neat little revolvers - maybe we should be starting a "929" and "H & R" fan club! :D

I getting ready to start on a new holster for mine and will post a photo of it when I'm done.
