I have a Rossi 92 16 inch trapper that I bought about a year ago in .357 mag. The action has always felt really tight but not so smooth. And she did not feed .38's all that reliably. The other issue was that with the short sight radius and a sloping barrel the gun shot too high at about 6-8 inches. Enough to be annoying. I am a reloader but no gun smith and wanted to get this gun right.
My gunsmith solved the feeding problem for .38's and has the gun working slick. He also polished the trigger a bit and it is nice and crisp.
Instead of installing a new front sight he machined the notch in my rear sight about 1/16 on an inch lower.
I already love the feel of this gun and this shout be a great shooter. I am gonna use .38's for small game and .357 mags on deer. Where i hunt there are some good stalking areas in pine thickets and this gun is great for quick shots. I am not concerned with anyone's moral objections to the .357 and deer hunting.
At what I paid for the rifle and the fitting of the parts I am still under a Browning, Winchester or Marlin by far and this is a quality fire arm.
