what do those who have them recommend for a CCW holster, defense ammo, etc. The model I bought is the Bersa 383-A and has many nice features such as a decock, DA/SA, magazine disconnect and double strike capability. The sights are of the 3-dot type and the rear sight is windage adjustable. The pistol is nice and tight. It looked like it had been shot very little and is in excellent condition with very little wear. I think I got a good deal as I got if for $120.00. My wife has taken a shine to it so I may also look for a pair of fancy grips, if any of you can recommend a source, and give it to her for our anniversary. Any help is most welcome.....RW

For ammo, best bet is to try several types and see what shoots best in that particular pistol. Its a good excuse to shoot it more, too!

I settled on the Remington Golden Sabre 102gr. in my .380. It was the most accurate defensive load I tried. And the heavier bullet may give you a tad more penetration.

I use a cheap ($10) Uncle Mike's IWB holster. Should get a better one. But it carries OK in that.

Can't help you with grips. Mine's stock. I have put a Hogue monogrip on another pistol and really like it. Can't tell you if they make a monogrip for the Bersa.

Uncle Mike's IWB or Bianchi Belly-Band.

Stock grips.

Sellier & Bellot FMJ, Federal Eagle FMJ, and Federal Premium (Hydra-Shoks). Emphasis on the latter. This one was rated best in its category by Marshall & Sanow. My Bersa loves 'em; but it'll eat virtually anything without a fuss. It's a real goat, in the positive sense of the word.

$120 is fine, providing it wasn't fired a lot, and if it's in very good condition.

Ok I recommend the smartcarry holster. It conceals in ya pants and works well. You can find it at...

I have personally dealt with the guy who owns the company and he's very nice. Tell him what gun you have, and within 3 days (no kidding, ordered Monday afternoon, received Wednesday evening) it'll be at your door. You can even download the instructions off of his website, without purchasing anything, so you can get an idea of what you'll be getting. Sure enough, I got the holster, and the instructions were identical to what I had downloaded off the computer!

As far as ammo, who knows? This is a big variable. I have shot Russian FMJ ammo, Winchester and Fed hydrashok's thru the gun with no problems. I don't know how much you guys would believe this, but there is an article on .380 ballistics, and a chart that shows ACTUAL (on the street) one shop stop percentages. Note: the hydra shok is highest with 71% one shot stops. This, however, may not be the BEST bullet for the gun. I do remember that Triton's quik shok came in a close second with 70% one shot stops. All hollowpoints were above 60% on one shot stops, whereas the best FMJ was around 55%. I emailed the company who used to have this article, and as soon as they reply I will post the link to it.
