The "new" .22 r.f. is about 65+ years old but looks great.
It is so old that it isn't gooved for tip off mounts.
Bluing on this Ranger M 100-3 is deep & rich, the stock is honest walnut with a bit of grain & hardly a mark on her.(think it's a Marlin M-80)
She is a mag fed bolt action & will handle s.l. or L.R.
I like the .22 short h.p. for squirrels as it kills them quickly, & is quiet in Ohio's way too early season with trees still in full foliage.
It's been a long time since I've seen a .22 r.f. with a walnut stock.
Did a bit of internet snooping and learned Ranger was marketed by Sears prior to marketing firearms under the Ted Williams moniker.
My old eyes just won't focus on the back open sight anymore so I sure wish it was grooved for mounts.
Is it possible to have grooves milled in the reciever?
Perhaps I can find Weaver bases that fit the round reciever & drill & tap?
It won't ever be collectable so taping isn't a problem.
I'll take a truck load of .22 rifles like this one for a hun'ert bucks!

Good find! Got pix? Consider mounting an aperture receiver sight on it. They are a definite improvement for my 59 year eyes.
