So I looked into several variations of guns posted in a prior post about a good CC gun. I ended up going with the Para Ordnance p18.9. I got to fire about 100 rounds through it today (sightless, I'll get to that) and honestly.... I love it. No kick, and aside from the occasional "new gun jamming" shots (which appear to be from the magazine being a junker) it is BEAUTIFUL to shoot.
Out of the box the rear sight piece (the LTD dovetail style) managed to break off when I cocked it to do a preliminary check over and cleaning. I'm talking to Para about getting a replacement. They seem apologetic about the situation since it was an NIB. I'm going to bring up the jamming issues and see what they have to say, because it only happened 3 times and with the same clip each time. And it wasn't even a "jam" so much as the slide failing to load the round. It remained opened as if empty, but a push of the slide release fixed it. Someone said it has to with the spring on another forum. Any ideas?
I'm going to thoroughly clean it and lube it up tonight and head out to the range this week and see if that helps.
