Got My New Kahr Today!

...and boy, is it sweet. It is the Polymer frame P9, and I can't get over how well it feels in my hand. Much lighter than the stainless or blue steel models, and much less "blocky" in my hand than the small Glocks (26/27). (No fighting words intended. Just subjective feel.) We go out to the range tomorrow to see if it shoots as well as it carries.

P.S. The entire package has a high quality feel to it. Two mags, trigger lock, nice little plastic case, and a very complete manual. Nice to see a quality, made-in-the-US weapon. So, why is MA "the state where fine handguns are manufactured, but you can't have one."

OH-the envy. I'll have to wait until we are settled into our new house before I can get one too. Let us know how it goes, for sure. :) :)

Well, a lot you know. You even misspelled "car".
What kind of car did you get?
Also, I know for a fact that Glock don't make cars, just fine pistols.

You'll never here the end of this.

I have a Kahr K9, one of the all steel ones.

I LOVE IT!

As far as I'm concerned, it is THE PERFECT small 9mm pistol.

I've yet to see one of the polymer framed versions.

Beware the man with the S&W .357 Mag.
Chances are he knows how to use it.

Mike,

I really liked the feel of the Kahr K9, and was thinking about getting one when a friend turned me onto the polymer frame model. I was surprised how much lighter it was (important to me for carry). The DAO thing will take some training, but it seems like I could get used to it with practice.

Who would have thought I'd have a striker-fired tupperware gun, and like it. (haha--bring it on).

Well, I just got back from the range, and here are my first impressions:

1. Love this gun! The gun seems to recoil less in my hand than any of the small .380's I've shot lately, and certainly less than the PPK/s I thought I always wanted. Maybe the angle of the grip...I don't know, but I sure like it.

2. 150 rounds and no malfunctions of any kind. All FMJ ammo, so no feel on GDHP's, but so far the gun has been flawless.

3. The trigger takes a little getting use to, epsecially for a Sig shooter like me. My buddy (a Glocker) had no problem adjusting, and after I started thinking of the trigger pull as "like a revolver," I started getting a lot more comfortable with it.

Overall, I'm saying two thumbs up for the polymer Kahr. At least for me.
