Got my Mak today !

I picked up my Mak today from my FFL. I'm impressed. I went with a Bulgarian unissued from Jersey City Armory. For $176 total (includes background check and FFL fees), I got the pistol, two mags, cleaning rod, lanyard strap, and holster. Great deal in my mind.

The gun is solid. A little hefty yet compact. It may become a carry gun.

I bought some kerosene to soak it in tonight. Then I'll try Gunscrubber tomorrow night before I give it a thorough cleaning. Already got a Mak newbie pack from Makarov.com, so I have some Pearce grips to go on it. Can't wait to try this one on the range. Hope it shoots as well as everyone here has indicated.

Congratulations on your new Mak. They are a fantastic handgun. I use mine in IDPA back up gun matches, and it really kicks butt.

If you're not happy with it, I'll be greatly suprised. My Russian Makarov is fantastic! I'd like to get at least a couple of more Maks (I'm that happy with them), but that will have to wait until next January.

Guyon, if it doesn't meet with your expectations, I would be more than happy to give it a new home next to my Mak . However, I seriously doubt you will be disappointed. Get some ammo for that puppy and enjoy!!
