Hey guys,
I am now 10 days since my LASIK eye surgery and am looking forward to my first IDPA shoot this Saturday with my new 20/15 vision. The procedure was painless and took about 3 minutes per eye; I was in and out including recovery in about an hour and a half. I have been wearing glasses or contacts for 18 years and am walking on cloud nine! If any of you have been considering having this procedure done and live in Central Florida I can assure you that you will not find a better deal. LASIK usually costs $1000-2000 per eye but I got mine done for $499 per eye! Even better the Doctor is himself a shooter (shoots a Glock) who understands the dynamics of competitive shooting. He has kept in touch with me by phone and email since the operation and has made himself available night or day for any concerns. I told him no where would there be people who could more use his skills then among our own so I asked him if I could post this and he said just to let everyone know the special will only last till the middle of October then he would be raising his rates to be comparable to the industry. Here is his info: . Dr. Sam Omar 407-252-7600 2100 w SR 434 Suite 2-A Longwood Fl. 32779 (North Orlando) Tell him where you found out about it!
If I can answer any questions feel free to ask, I can only speak from my own experience.

Great news to hear!

What was your sight before the op?

Also even though I dont need it as I have good sight myself I always wondered what happens if you move your eye during the procedure? Go blind? Do they start over? What?

MrBigglesworth,
I had Lasik done on my eyes two years ago. If you move your eye you are screwed. The laser will vaporize whatever eye tissue it comes in contact with. This was one of my fears when I had it done.

Check out the bulletin board postings at this link before you have this done. It's not always perfect, and it's not always permanent. Just do some investigating, first to make sure that it's for you.

Congratulations Dave. Tomorrow is five weeks for me. Went from 20/400 to 20/15 and grinned for a week. I could not be happier. First night after surgery, phone rang at 3:20 a.m. and, for the first time, could see the digital clock. Was so ecstatic that I wanted to tell the caller how great my vision was. Click..................It's near miraculous. And I start shooting again tomorow evening.

2shots,
Congrats also! I can now focus on the front site and target at the same time, its uncanny....
MrBigglesworth,
If you have picked a good Doctor you will not have to worry about your eye moving, he will hold it (don't ask me how he did it!) and it will be over so fast it won't have the chance to move. I have had 6 friends now who have gone through the procedure now with all great results,

Congrats pal, I'm glad to hear about anyone able to get that surgery. My vision fluctuates every year so i'm not a good candidate (looked thoroughly into it). If I get it done, my cornea may change shape again rendering bad vision again and out 1,500.00......

I hope my vision stablizes so I can get it.

Isn't it amazing that even for a grand you get six minutes of work done, I need to get into the practice.

Good luck and happy vision.
