Got my first 9mm

I just received my new XDm 5.25 in 9mm. I wanted the stainless slide but it was not worth $70 to me.

And yes, I only found out about the Springfield debacle after I ordered it. I looked at a M&P Pro 9 but I did not like the grip as much and thought the trigger was kind of funky. All in all I did not care for it.

Either way I have the XDm with the 3 mags it came with plus the 4 more coming from the rebate.

I was hoping that my mag loader for my wife's XD mod 2 was going to work but it does not (the XDm mags are to wide).

I ordered a Uplula today but I will not have it on hand before I go to the range on Saturday (none of the shops have any in stock locally).

I got 17 rounds in the 19 round mags by hand and that was enough for me lol.

Walmart also had 50rds for $9 which was not bad for Federal brass cased.

It will be fun to give it a work out this weekend.

Already planning on getting a punch so I can try the other back straps and started looking at replacing the roll pin so I can dry fire more and maybe a PRP trigger. But first I want to get a few hundred rounds through it.

There it is. When people ask for opinions on what they should get (nothing at all wrong with that by the way) in the end you need to get hands on with them so that you can see what YOU like.
Congrats Drummer on the Springfield, good choice on the Uplula as well.

Congrats! You'll have seen my criticisms in another thread but if it's what you like then more power to you. 19 round mags are a nice plus.

Good gun. I had one at one time but it was picky with my reloads so I moved on from it.

Enjoy your XDM! I LOVE mine! The 19rd mags ARE a little stiff, but they'll loosen up fast enough. I left mine loaded with 17 for a while and that helped.

And as other have said, props to you for getting your hands on all of the options to get a feel for how they fit.

I had one once and it was the most accurate 9mm auto I ever had! (shoulda kept it!)

I put about 150 rounds through it this morning. At 7 yards it was easy to make one ragged hole (I am not that good of a shot, but the gun was not the limit).

It took me about one or 2 magazines for me to get used to the trigger. I do find myself treating it almost like a 2 stage trigger.

I like the gun but I see a few PRP mods in my future.

I took a friend to the range this morning and now he wants one.
