Got my Coonan a few days ago.

I got my Coonan Classic a few days back. I got it with 4 mags and the glow sights. I was going to get a 6 inch barrel but it put the gun out of my budget so I got the 5 inch barrel.

Have not shot any 357s yet but its done very well on 38+P rounds. Had a single failure with a 110 grain 38 +P but not a single fail in 300 round from the 158 grain 38+P.

I would love to buy a Coonan. They are right at the top of my list of wants, but my bank account (and wife) continually tells me know. One day I will join you in the Coonan owner's club though.

Congrats! Glad to hear how its working for you. There are some other threads running now about the Coonan and about magnum caliber auto pistol in general. Check them out, and please share your experiences.

Cool pistols, but a Glock 31 with .357 SIG full powers will equal the Coonan in performance, all with far less weight and far greater magazine capacity. I just don't get the point of them IMHO.

357

.357 SIG doesn't even come close to what the mag can do. Highest production load I found for sig was 125gr at 564lbs of energy. Buffalo bore has 357 mag rounds 180gr and 783lbs as well as 125gr at 1600lbs. I like the .357sig but it can't hang with the high end of .357 mag territory.
