Just traded for an old Mossbereg 144 22 target rifle. It has the peep sights with a circle in a circle front sight. The gun looks rough on the outside but inside all is nice the bore is shiny with no pits. The trigger is nice I have not put it on a trigger gauge yet but I would guess 2lbs or a shdy less with no creep or overtravel. It is pouring rain here today hope to give some range time tomorrow.

There's a couple options with old rifles that have been abused...
simply clean 'em, oil'em, and use 'em...
if it's a particularly good shooter, and restorable, an investment into a hot blue tank job can be worthwhile.
(If no other reason than your kids will love it for decades after you're gone)
& then there's the Parkerizing or Cerakote options...which are usually the
"Dang it's rusty & pitted! but it shoots alright!" options...
or the My Daughter/Wife wanted a pink/purple gun" option.

I shot this rifle Sunday a little. It seems to shoot well. I have tore it apart and cleaned it. I may just leave it as is and shoot it.
