Got a S&W model 64 question...

I picked a used S&W model 64 with a 4 inch heavy stainless steel barrel. I would guess it is circa 1990 or so. It is a .38 special.

Is it safe to routinely shot .38 special + P loads through this revolver? It surely looks robust enough compared to my 642 snubbie.

These guns are fine with +P. They were our issue gun for years and had shoot thousands without a problem. I was told that any S&W 38 made after they started using model numbers is fine with +Ps. Maybe someone else can confirm that. Either way your 64 is fine with them.
