Got a P-32 Today

Ater hearing all the good things about the P-32 from friends who have them, I went out today and got one. ($240 out the door including a box of ammo). After I got it home, I broke it down and put a couple of drops of oil on the slide area, and off to the range I went, excited as a child on Christmas morning. I loaded and inserted the magazine, jacked the slide, but it would not load the first round :( . I gave the slide some "assistance" with my thumb and loaded the first round. Before I fired the last round, I removed the Magazine and loaded it with 6 rounds. All the rounds loaded fine. I tried it with Hydra-shok's as well. Then I remembered a thread I had read on here about problems with the loading ramp, I don't think this is the problem I can "wiggle" the barrel just as easily with a full magazine in with the slide back, trying to load the first round as I can with the slide locked back with no Magazine. Please help, should I just accept the fact that my P-32 is a 6+1?

Welcome to the P-32 club.

How many times did you try 7-rounds in the mag? Just the once?

It may be the mag spring is a bit stiff, it may be the gun just needs a little break-in.

Try loading 7 rounds in the mag and leave overnight, to loosen the spring. Or, if you have a friend with a P-32, ask if you can try his/her mags. Put at least 100 rounds through the gun. That way, you'll at least know if its a mag problem or a gun problem.

Don't just accept that its 6+1. If the mag spring break-in doesn't fix it, call Kel-Tec. They will fix it if necessary.

sorry, the 1000 character rule got me, tried it three times, all with the same result.
Left last round in chamber loaded seven round magazine, wouldn't feed 1st round out of mag.

Mag troubles

I was having similar trouble with my magazine not working properly with 7 rounds in it. I was told that there were some 7-shot magazines with the springs intended for the 10 round magazines. Kel-Tec sent a new spring and all is well.

Marca, did you contact Kel-tec directly?

Yes. They were very helpful. I had a replacement spring within a few days.
