I had one in 1996 and got rid of it for a ruger
P-95.Gone shooting with the person I sold it to.
Shot it again and have to have one agian.
I should be kick in the head for getting rid of it.It will never happen again.

...It will never happen again.

Unless, like I did, you discover the CZ-85 or, better yet, the CZ-85 Combat. (The Combat is the same basic gun with more refinements, adjustable trigger, ambidextrous controls, adjustable sights, and drop-free mags.)

Like Walt, I discovered the 85 Combat, but rather than sell my 75, I dumped a Beretta Elite and used the $$ to buy the 85 and some full cap mags. suggrest that over ever selling a CZ.

What to do?

My friend is thinking about buying a CZ75B Mil. He found one locally for $399, with one preban and one postban mags. In my neck of the woods that's a good price. He's having second thought because of the discussions over at CZForum (great place BTW http://pub69.ezboard.com/bczechpistols82792 ) that I've been printing for him. It looks like every other person reports problems with their CZ75B, and to make things worse I read over there how some were shipped without firing pins! Not exactly something that inspires confidence. :(

I've been reading these boards for the last couple years and some how that last post doesn't read like one of Tecolote's regular messages. The grammar sounds odd for him as do the sentiments...

My personal experience with the CZ75B has been that it is a flawless weapon of incomparable value.

cz

Have had no problems with my cz85 or 75pcr.
Several friends own the 75b (military turkish contract) they have not had any problems either.
Have read of one instance of no firing pin on a turkish contract gun. www.czforum.com will have alot of information.

not mine.

I know cz's are great, however, I have had nothing but problems with my cz 85b. At least 1 in 10 rounds jam the gun (never leaves the mag). I have polished the feed ramp and swapped out the slide block spring and even sent it back. It STILL does not work. CZ is now sending me new mags. Anyone have problems like this!?!?!

You're right

Gremlin,

I just noticed we registered only two days apart. I edited my previous post, I guess I just can't pull off that I'm a hip cat.

I've always been a fan of CZs until I bought a real jammatic. It was an older CZ75 so maybe that had something to do with it. Since my buddy doesn't have computer access I've been doing a little research for him. I've been surprised by the number of complaints about the CZ75B Mils. At first I told him I thought it was a good buy, but now I'm having second thoughts about my advice. He's on a very tight budget and this is a major investment for him. I don't want to be the one that leads him astray. :)

CZ

I had a 75B military and sold it to a good friend as his first handgun. It has functioned reliably and is extremely accurate. I then bought an 85 Combat and was so impressed that I've ordered another two, one for myself and one for another friend. I haven't seen any reliability problems with the CZs that I've handled. If I stumble upon any, I'll report them.

If you have problems with a handgun, let CZ fix it. If they don't fix it, make them replace it. I'm sure that they'll be willing to oblige. Either way, I think that the platform is one of the best available, and the CZ has the most ergonomic grip of any handgun I've held (except maybe the hi-power).

As I posted on CZF, I've only put 350 rounds of ball through my TurkGun since trading for it last week, but it's been flawless so far.

Instantly my favorite 9mm, to the horror of my precious, precious Sig carry gun. Sorry, guy...

I had brief problems with my CZ-85 Combat, when I first got it, with an irregular feed problem. Rather than send it back to CZ, I had my local 'smith work on it. He took a little metal off of the slide stop pin, and its worked flawlessly eversince. (Had somethig to do with the magazine/pistol interface.)

Your new mags may solve the problem, and if it does, those mags may work well in other guns.

My shootin' buddy and I went to our "secret" spot yesterday and blasted away. Among the many firearms was my new CZ75 B "military". Strangly, it was the favorite gun to shoot. We shot about 150rds through it without a hitch. My buddy is not easily impressed but he REALLY likes my "military". We had a Ruger P-90, East German Makarov, Taurus M605, Ruger P-95, and a USP45 on the firing line. The CZ easily won the tightest group contest.
I've been away from CZ's for a number of years but recently bought a CZ40 (new straight grip design) and the 75 military. I'm really impressed with these pistols. Fit, finish, and reliability is top notch. And of course as always...VALUE. Best Regards, J. Parker
