On www.GunsAmerica.com I saw a wicked cool custom .38spl revolver.
It has detailed engraving & a custom "coffin" style case. :D

The sale price is $16,000.00 USD plus $45.00 for S/H.

I'm not super savvy with links & pics but some TFL member might be able to post it on the forum.
The Vampire revolver is pretty slick. :cool:
 
The "vampire revolver" has been floating around the gunzines and gun boards for some time now. Well done if you like that sort of thing.

Here it is with a 4" K-Frame Model 12,,,
Not the gun I'm going to encase,,,
But it will show the case's size.

I wish I had a picture of what my friend put together,,,
He built a nice "Gentleman's Defense Kit" with a 3" S&W Model 36,,,
It contains the revolver, two speed loaders with a 25 round bullet block, and a cleaning rod.

The OCD part of me just loves guns encased with the proper accessories.

That is a serious amount of engraving, but for $16k you'd have to be seriously into vampires to pull the trigger.

How many hours would it take to engrave a gun to that level of detail??

If I am shilling out 16 grand it better be something more along the lines of a custom Perazzi, something very rare, or very high end.

That probably is very rare and high end. So let me add that it would also need to be something that I could use without fear of degrading the value too much.

I had the same thought at first but unfortunately 16 will only cover about half of a used truck that meets my needs. :mad:
 
That silver plate is absolutely gorgeous. Always been a fan of the way silver can look when it's engraved. And to me the slight bit if tarnish that can fill the engraving gives it so much character.

For a pig-in-a-poke, no returns, just back from factory service Taurus 85, I'd be thinking run $150 by him and see what he says.

S/H shouldn't be a deal breaker. :rolleyes:

I'm not fond of engraving in general. I did like the S&W "bank note" .45acp DA revolver.
