Gore's camp pulling out of my state! Yahooo!!

I live in Ohio and we're no longer a SWING state! Fox news, as well as various independent polling agencies have tagged Ohio as being solidly in the Bush camp! Al Whore can take his illegal contributions, and his photo ID for handguns........turn them side ways.........and file them in his human folder! (still going to buy an AK variant at next gun show) ;)

Excellent news. You Ohioans have a buttload of people and therefore votes in the electoral college. He's prob got Texas, too! That right there's a lot of votes. Gore's focusing, I take it, on Penn, Florida, Illinois, Mich, what else? Does he believe he's got Calif for sure? Or is Bush still fighting there in earnest? Certainly Algore will get most or all of New England, including NY and NJ, no? I'm actually somewhat optimistic about Bush, becuase the popular vote polls show him with a slight lead, a good lead (beyond the statistical margin of error) among likely voters, and now some big-time states are falling his way. Thank goodness. If he wins, his Supreme Court appointments MAY JUST avert a civil war with their effect on RKBA decisions.

Congratulations - just make sure that you stay motivated an prove the polls right come November 7th!

Last I saw, Gore had committed to spending more in California since Bush gains there were making him a bit uneasy. That should give Bush some unopposed time in the swing states to campaign, since Gore has to divert those resources from existing campaigns in other states.

Bore is ramping up his efforts in Calif. after discovering that the state is far less likely to vote his way than was believed.

NoGoreNoMore !!!

Go VOTE for GWB and take another GWB voter with you. In fact, provide assistance to all GWB voters in need of transportation to the polls. It is time to muster the troops for a revolution at the polls.

GWB is our only chance for NoGoreNoMore.

I guess this thread is okay, gun-oriented and all, since we are talking about an anti-gun President as possibilty, and the moderators haven't shut it down. I have a couple of quick questions for those keeping up: Dikyllis, how many electoral votes in Ohio? Got a quick on-line news source that can give me (us) the best polling data (maybe Zogby or Gallup) on who is projected to get each state, and their electoral count? Florida worries me, Gore's prescription drug giveaway plan may carry the day with the massive AARP eligible group there.

Florida has 25 electoral votes. I think the Elian Gonzales raid doomed Gore. Jeb is a reasonably popular Governor, and I think Dubya will win.

Check out www.portraitofamerica.com for the electoral college breakout by State.

I know Wisconsin is still a swing state along with Michigan. I'll be humping the next couple of weeks to get some of the brain dead--I mean, uh, undecided---gun owners out to vote.

Michigan wasn't supposed to be a swing state, but Bush is surprising everyone there. Seems to be a pattern. I wish it could happen in Illinois, but I doubt it. Just read in the paper today that a company that BUYS AND SELLS VOTES has to stop operating in Illinois until a court ruling comes down. I'm not kidding. A guy from Austria and another from New York run the thing, http://www.voteauction.com, which offers to buy absentee ballots and then sells them in chunks to the highest bidder. If you win the auction, they fill in all the ballots in that group the way you want them.
I very nearly cried in the middle of a Hardee's restaurant when I read that. Nothing should surprise me, but it did.

I wonda which way ma state of Gawga is leaning? I was in Ohio this week. Great state but everybody talks funny! I also suspect its full of yankees!

Phillip-Too funny :)

:)<--For Ohio (sometimes we Buckeyes do the right thing)

Florida should go Bush. Most of the oldsters I know down there are very staunch Republicans. Lots of 'em are members of the "I like Ike" ilk. Back in '92, when "Team Socialist" first hit the airwaves, most of the over 60's people I know, had the impression of Gore as being "What every old person thinks a young person should be."(sickening concept I know). Gore's straight up suited attire, contrasted nicely with Clinton's jeans and Big Mac, aimed at the younger as well as the '60's generation. If you look at a lot of the campaign pictures, the Democrats are clearly trying to cash in on the mistaken belief that the "casual dude" concept will get them through again. Truth is, Gore looks so out of place in a polo shirt it's funny. I suspect every photo of Al, trying to look like a regular guy, costs him 1K votes.

I understand that because of Lieberman, Florida swung over to the Gore camp. The pendulum seems to be reversing.

Since this is political, I'll just post a few snippets and the URL for this Miami Herald story (a good one, BTW).

Trip dims Democrats' Hispanic hopes
BY MARK SILVA AND LESLEY CLARK
msilva@herald.com

In Al Gore's campaign for president, Miami-Dade Mayor Alex Penelas was touted as the star of a Democratic appeal for the Hispanic vote in South Florida.

The star, though, has flown to Spain, with the campaign all but lost among Cuban-American voters.

. . .

Penelas has not abandoned the Gore campaign, says Ric Katz, a friend and advisor, who added the mayor will play a public role in the final week of the race.
``There is no question Alex Penelas is a part of the Gore campaign,'' Katz said. ``He believes in the candidate and the party's goals and mission, and when he comes back he will be visible.'' HOOT!

Gore's started running adds in Tennesse now. I have yet to see more than 10 Gore signs in my Tenn travels, but a crap load of Bush signs.
Gore is really pushing the Oak Ridge area, trying "buy" votes with promises of new gov. contracts. Many there remember the promises he made in 96. Two weeks after the election DOE laid people off by the thousands.

sarge, it was worse than that. Bore campaigned in Oak Ridge and specifically stated that if Clinton wasn't reelected, the Republicans were going to lay off workers. After the election, when the good little sheep voted his way, it was revealed that Clinton had already ordered the layoffs and was just waiting until the elections were over to announce it.

Bore is a liar and a traitor and I am happy to announce that I just voted for the next president of the United States, George W. Bush!
