Gore chooses.......... Clinton as his Running mate?

With Hillary in the Senate and William the Senate President I'm sure they'd have fun. After reading an interview with Bill Clinton by Newsweek "In 1982, when I was running
for reelection as governor and I was trying to become the first governor in the
history of my state ever to win, lose and win again,
I got a questionnaire that
said, are you for a three-day waiting period, and I said, sure, because it made
sense to me, 18 years ago."

You can bet his wheels are turning to figure out how to stay in the 'inner circle'.

Wow - that is one scary thought and probably legal.

"As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression.
In both instances there is a twilight when everything remains
seemingly unchanged. And it is in such twilight that we all
must be most aware of change in the air - however slight -
lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness."

Yep, its legal, but I don't think even Algore is that dumb...think about it:

1) Upon announcement, the country would be immediately polarized. The Republicans in Congress would be enraged. Gore would be linked to Clinton's shame permanently...no way to distance himself. Gore is already behind Bush...this would doom him
2) If, by a remote chance, they won, Gore would always be eclipsed by his VP...a VP who would forever be camera hogging, laying out sound bites, chasing women and being a constant embarassment. No one would take Gore seriously...he'd be a puppet and the whole world would know it.

I'd love to see it

It's sad (and kind of frightening) that the first thought I had when reading this was that Al's life was about to be cut short, say three months after his innaguration.

It's also not legal. Since Klinton cannot run for another presidential term, he is ineligable to be VP.

G50AE: Now, by any good faith interpretation of the Constitution, somebody who's ineligable to be President can't be vice President. Not a lot of good faith interpretation of that document going on in Washington these days, though. So I'd say only political considerations stand in the way. And, by the way, Gore wouldn't have to DIE; He could just resign after the election, you know... To save his life!

Nah, I seriously doubt that they'd try it, as Clinton would not want to give the voters any choice in the matter, were he going to try to become President for life.

I know its been a while since I had this stuff....but isnt the president only restricted from running three consequtive terms?....I mean like a, bill could run for secretary general of the un, algore could run for president, Hilary could be senator, Next election bill could run with algore or hillary could jump in,,,,and dont forget theres always schumer to be paid back, and of course there could be some other democrat, and eventually of course we could wind upwith gore in charge of fema, and both bill and hillary swapping presidential terms and them going off to run the un.......Im getting sick....fubsy.

Legalities never stopped him from doing anything before, did it?...
