Good Trade?

An old marine friend of wants to trade his preban Arms Corps M14 for my preban AR 15 shorty. Both are in very good shape. Sound like a good deal?

Before the ban the AC M14 sold for $649 for a standard and $850 for a "match" model, although I was never sure what that meant for the M14. Your shorty sold for $759 if it was a Colt. Now they're worth near the same with the M14 having the edge particularly if it's a Match model. My .02

I would say the pre-ban colt is probably worth more then an pre-ban Armscorp M1A. A Springfield M1A has a lifetime factory warrenty - Armscorp is just a brand X rifle.

Actually Armscorp purchased and used the government tooling for their rifles. They made their own receivers. Springfield was not a manufacturer. They were an assembly house using parts from 4 different countrys, stamping their name on parts. That's not to say they weren't quality rifles, just that they were parts rifles.
