Good story to start your week...

I went to the range this weekend with a buddy. After firing all the .40 and 9mm ammo, we started plinking with a couple .22LR target pistols (Shooting thumbtacks at 10 yds for a buck each - aim small miss small :D)
The guy next to us was goin' off with a 12ga. the whole time we were there.
So anyway, this yuppie looking guy walks by with his timid looking girlfriend, sees our boxes of .22 ammo and starts showing her..."Look honey, this is what I was talking about".
Apparently, he tried to get her to shoot his 9mm, and she diddn't like it - too loud and too much recoil. So he politely asks if she can try our .22.
No problem. I load a clip, show her how the gun operates, put up a real target, and let her at it.
So we're all standing behind her when she sloooooowly pulls the trigger, obviously afraid of the recoil. EXACTLY as she squeezes the shot off, the guy next to us lets loose with a VERY hot 3 inch magnum slug.
BOOM!
She drops the gun and jumps back 10 feet or so, trembling. While my buddy and I pee our pants, she accuses her boyfriend of tricking her, he's trying to explian the situation, I'm trying to clear my gun after she dropped it while laughing insanely. The guy next to us looks around like we're all a bunch of freaks. His girlfriend is finally admitting that it diddn't hurt her hand ALL that much, but, gosh was it loud for having such a little bitty bullet.
Well, we had her shoot again and she ended up renting a .22 and was still there when we left.
I wish I had a picture of her face when that 12ga went off tho... :D

Its lucky she got back in the saddle after a stunt like that. I have seen ladies walk off the range for lesser things. (I just dont unnerstand women...)
Thats the important thing though - getting people to the range and trying some shooting.
Caution MUST be taken that the experiance will be enjoyable.

George, the only thing I have been aboe to figure out about women for sure is this:
1. They're soft.
2. They smell good.
That's all I know for sure, but it's good enough for me :)

This is the way I thought my wife was going to be. She was never an anti, however I just KNEW that she would be recoil and noise sensitive when we went to the range. I've never been so wrong in my life. She started with a Ruger single six .22 caliber her father gave her. She shot it several times then said, "Honey, this little pistol is great but I'd like to shoot your Glock".
After I picked up my jaw, I handed her my G27. She shot it as well as she shot the .22 Ruger! No problems at all. Then she shot my .38 special S&W Chief's Special. Right off the bat she was a better shot with the .38 snub than I EVER had been. She enjoyed it so much that she said she wanted a .38 of her own. (Jaw on the ground again.) Anyway, she has a new Taurus Total Ti that she is VERY good with. She also has her CCW. I suspect that she is one of those "natural shots" you hear about. (I thought it was a legend.) She's good with everything she picks up. Even my AR15.
True story. (I'm very proud)

A few years after I was married I wanted to buy my first handgun. We never realy talked about guns before. We where looking at the Glock 17. She had to have one too. At the range it was OK but "not enough boom" she says!! Right then she re-affirmed why I married her. :D
We went right into a pair of Desert Eagle 44Mag. Wheeeee! :D
